About Us

Our Story

Simple Kindness is a US based non-profit organization founded in 2015 by a group of first generation Americans with very diverse backgrounds. The main idea behind Simple Kindness was to build a charity organization focussed on a direct and targeted approach towards helping people in some of the world’s most impoverished, underprivileged and poor communities.

Because of the founders’ background, they had first hand knowledge of difficulties commonly faced in many south asian and middle eastern countries, affected by poverty, natural calamities, lack of proper nutrition, education and health care, and therefore decided to concentrate the relief efforts in this region.

According to some recent reports, South Asia is home to about 62 million of the world’s 155 million children considered as stunted– or too short for their age. Moderate-to-severe stunting rates ranged from 17 percent in Sri Lanka in 2016 to a high 45 percent in Pakistan in 2012–13, with rates above 30 percent for most countries in the region. In addition, this region is home to the largest numbers of out-of-school children and youths at 31.8 million with 8.2 million at primary level (6 to 9 years) and 23.6 million at the secondary level (10 to 14 years)- Unesco 2017.

Some other daunting figures include highest mortality rate numbers, with Pakistan and Afghanistan ranking at the top with 60 and 46.5 deaths/ 1000, and second highest number of maternal deaths worldwide.

Huge disparities in socio economic conditions, income and ever widening gap in access to affordable health care results in malnutrition, illiteracy, lower life expectancy and overall lower quality of life.

Simple Kindness is committed to help this vulnerable population and we are employing a multi pronged approach to alleviate suffering and hardships people face in these underprivileged societies.

Core strength of our model is to work in partnership with trusted local organizations with established ties to these communities, resulting in greater outreach to maximize relief benefits . We hope that by providing assistance with food, education, medical supplies and creating sustainable employment opportunities, we can play our small part in making a difference in these people’s lives.
